I’ve been so busy for the last week, that I haven’t had time to report on my pudding making! Using a good, old-fashioned Mrs Beeton recipe, I managed to make two 1lb puddings. Actually making the pudding mixture was relatively easy, but they each had to be steamed for a couple of hours in a pressure cooker…..the recipe says six hours boiling in an ordinary pan! I do posses a pressure cooker but haven’t used it for many years, so I had to dig out the instructions first and make sure it was in working order before I started. Things ran pretty smoothly and I now have two wonderful puddings stored away for Christmas and New Year. Time to ‘feed’ them and the Christmas cake this week with a little brandy! Can’t wait to taste them!
